Located directly across from Parliament Hill, this high profile project consists of renovating and linking two heritage structures. The project comprises the removal and reconstruction of the north facade of the Marshall Building (circa 1877) complete with the installation of a new structural frame as well as the entire renovation of the Four Corners Building (circa 1871) including a structural upgrade with additional interior steel columns. Both buildings will be joined by a cast-in-place concrete and steel framed four-storey infill structure, thus bringing the total floor area to 33,500 sf. In addition, both buildings will also be fully equipped with new mechanical, electrical and elevator systems complete with connection to the Parliament Hill steam generation plant. The completed building houses the National Capital Commission Tourist Information Centre, a well-known local souvenir retail business and several floors of office space.
