This project was performed in two parts. The largest part consisted of installing smoke detectors, sprinklers and new fire alarm system throughout the existing building. The second was an addition to house the building management staff and a new electrical vault for an upgraded power distribution system. As this work was performed in an operating hospital, detailed coordination was required to sequence the sprinkler and alarm installations. Scheduling work activities was especially difficult during the power distribution system update. Power disruptions and shutdowns had to be scheduled weeks (and in some cases, months) ahead.
