Level 3 Communciations D-Node Facility

PCL managed the construction of a brand new fibre optics distribution facility for Denver-based Level 3 Communications. The scope of work included:

• Replacement of the roof assembly for the entire building
• Removal and replacement of approximately 50 percent of the exterior walls.
• Removal and replacement of the sprinkler, fire alarm and lighting systems for 60,000 sf, with 20,000 dedicated to the initial built out areas for equipment and access floor.
• Installation of a new 4000KVA primary power service with transformer and duct bank
• Installation of a galvanized steel roof platform for dry coolers, connected to the internal Liebert HVAC units
• 10,000 sf of raised access floor area
• New 4000V switchgear equipment, with a 2000KW exterior generator
• Interior drywall partitions with minimal finishes
• Project was completed in six months ready for switching equipment on-line
