The work of this project prepares the site for the construction of the new Centre for Cellular & Biomolecular Research (CCBR) building. It entails relocating the existing underground services, installing shoring and completing the bulk excavation. The new CCBR will be located on top of the existing Taddle Creek Road at the University of Toronto. Taddle Creek Road is located between the existing Mining Engineering Building and the existing Fitzgerald Building. All asphalt, curb, gutters and miscellaneous small structures will be removed. The existing watermains, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, steam, condensate, chilled water supply, chilled water return and high voltage cables are to be rerouted around the excavation. Shoring will be installed in the form of a caisson wall and soldier piles with lagging along various portions of the existing perimeter.
