Ontario College of Art & Design - Sharp Centre for Design

Located on McCaul Street between Dundas and Queen, directly above the existing Ontario College of Art & Design building, this fast-track project included selective demolition of the existing building, a new enclosed 4-storey courtyard, elevator core and a new 2-storey, 55,000 s.f. structure (the table top) suspended above the existing building. The table top is supported on 12 brightly coloured legs - 27-metre-long structural steel columns. The courtyard functions as the new main entrance for the College. The new "table top" structure houses classrooms and studio space.
