Guelph General Hospital Expansion

This project consisted of 205,000 sf of renovated space and 135,000 sf of new construction. The new facility has not increased the number of beds available to the community, but the main focus has been in providing state-of-the-art facilities with the latest technology, treatment and patient services. The project consisted of phased additions and renovations as the facility continued to operate. The project commenced with Phase 1 in November 1997 and was completed when Phase 4 was occupied by the Hospital on July 30, 2001. An additional project, also completed by PCL Constructors Canada Inc., consisting of three new storeys added above the newly completed Emergency Department,  increased the Hospital's area by approximately 17,000 sf.
