The One Canada Center is a modern looking, granite sky rise in the heart of downtown Winnipeg, standing proudly on Portage Avenue. One Canada Center is the office building and headquarters of Investors Group.
Some of the unique features of this building, include the modular curtainwall system. This involved granite panels being set into the curtainwall system in the manufacturing plant and then set into modular placement. Another example was to construct a soundproof & waterproof floor between the offices on the top floor and the mechanical room, which was located on the upper two levels. This unique floor would guarantee that the working machinery would not interfere with the office personnel on the top floor.
PCL had effective construction planning and safety programs in place, which led to zero lost time incidents on this extensive project in the heart of downtown Winnipeg. This project is a true testament to PCL's expertise in office building construction.
